Severe winter weather warning alerts for the United Kingdom
week commencing Monday 2nd January 2012
Severe winter weather conditions with blizzards up to 24 cm of snow and
sleet to many parts of Scotland with continued showers throughout the
course of the week.
Severe icy conditions on roads to many parts of Northern England and
the whole of Scotland. Many roads to these regions will be dangerous
when travelling with black ice in many parts. Drivers are advised not
to travel unless it is extremely necessary.
Severe winds in excess of 90 miles an hour across the British Isles and
with a severe risk of damage to properties and falling tree's. People
are urged not to travel.
